API status
An API status page is a simple page that displays the operational status of all the APIs for customers to reference. These statuses communicate key information to users about the state of the operation of the APIs at that particular time. For existing customers who may be experiencing errors or issues, this is a key piece of information in establishing whether the issues they are facing in their application are caused by an outage or degraded performance in your APIs.
The following screenshot shows how the Twitter API status page (https://api.twitterstat.us/) is designed to show various statuses of the APIs: operational, degraded performance, partial outage, major outage, and maintenance. This information is also followed by a log of all past incidents:
